Operator and acceptance
HostShield is operated by SIA AKAL, registration number 40203537407, Gotfrīda iela 9, Krogsils, Ķekavas pagasts, Ķekavas novads, LV-2111, Latvia. By placing an order or creating an account, you agree to these terms and the policies linked from this website. You must have legal capacity to enter into the relevant contract.
Products, prices, and orders
Product descriptions, prices, taxes where applicable, shipping costs, and estimated delivery times are shown before payment. An order is accepted when we send an order confirmation after successful payment. We may reject or cancel an order where a product is unavailable, payment cannot be authorised, delivery information is incomplete, or we reasonably suspect fraud. If a paid order is cancelled by us, the amount collected for that order will be refunded.
Payment and subscriptions
Payments are processed by Stripe. HostShield does not store complete payment-card details. Any recurring service, price, billing interval, and renewal terms are displayed before subscription checkout. You may manage or cancel a subscription through the available account billing controls. Cancellation stops future renewals and does not normally refund a billing period that has already begun unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Host accounts and content
You are responsible for safeguarding your login details and for activity under your account. Hosts must keep property instructions, access information, emergency contacts, WiFi details, house rules, and other guest-facing content accurate and lawful. Do not upload content that infringes another person's rights, contains malware, facilitates unlawful activity, or exposes personal or confidential information without authority.
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant SIA AKAL the limited right to host, process, display, translate, and transmit that content only as needed to operate and support the HostShield service.
QR codes and guest guidebooks
HostShield QR codes and activation codes may be used only with the service and property for which they are validly activated. Do not copy, sell, interfere with, probe, or attempt to claim a code that does not belong to you. Hosts remain responsible for providing guests with safe, complete, and current property information. A digital guidebook does not replace professional, legal, safety, or emergency advice.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the service available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, security work, internet failures, third-party services, or events outside our reasonable control may cause temporary disruption. We may update features where reasonably needed for security, reliability, legal compliance, or service improvement.
Suspension and termination
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address fraud, unlawful content, security threats, material breach, non-payment, or harm to users or the service. Where practical, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. You may stop using the service and request account closure, subject to records we must retain by law.
Consumer rights and liability
Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Our Shipping Policy and Refund & Returns Policy explain delivery, withdrawal, return, refund, and legal-guarantee arrangements. To the extent permitted by law, SIA AKAL is not responsible for indirect losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made, or for losses caused by inaccurate host content or misuse of the product or service.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by Latvian law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections available in their country of residence. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable law may hear disputes. Please contact support@hostshield.store first so we can try to resolve a concern directly.
